Jet Burners

Jet burners have been used since the early 1900's.  They continue to be one of the best burners for applications that require a considerable heat.  High heat, jet burners can produce up to 432,000 BTU of heat per square foot of burner area.  They do not require any adjustments, and can develop temperatures of up to 1900 ºF.   Jet burners are used on live steam trains, backyard trains, maple syrup evaporators, industrial process evaporators, and professional steam cleaning machines. Roofing contractors commonly use the big cast iron jet burners as roofing tar pot heaters and for heating asphalt.  Jet burners like this are essential in outdoor cooking when you need to get a really BIG pot up to temperature right away. Each and every Tejas Smokers jet burner casting is individually inspected for quality of construction. Each Tejas Smokers® jet burner is bench tested and adjusted for optimum flame performance.  Out castings do not leak because they are quality heavy castings and have been carefully inspected.  Fuel efficient, long burner-life castings save you money for years. Jet burners are shipped outfitted for propane use unless the natural gas version is customer requested.

How far should the tips of the brass jets of a jet burner be placed below the bottom of the pot?

The answer is that it depends on whether you are using  Natural GasHigh Pressure Propane, or Low Pressure Propane:

►  The ideal distance is 6" using Natural Gasfor all jet burners.
►  The ideal distance is 10" using High Pressure Propane for most jet burners (but a JetC10 is placed at 8").
►  The ideal distance is 8" using Low Pressure Propane for most jet burners (but a JetC10 is placed at 6").  For sufficient volumes of gas using Low Pressure Propane, you must pipe the propane to the burner with the same size pipe ID as the gas inlet on the jet burner casting and use a twin-stage low pressure regulator with a matching outlet I.D.

Each Tejas Smokers® Jet Burner is individually bench tested and adjusted to insure optimized gas efficiency and quality of the casting. Jet burners find many uses because they output a lot of heat.  Folks looking for maple syrup equipment often prefer them for use as maple syrup evaporators.  Industrial applications include their use in beer brewing, process evaporators, heaters, heating roofing tar, heating asphalt, vats to melt lead ingots, steam cleaning generators...among many other applications.   Hobbyists use them for live steam in backyard trains.  Outdoor cooks love our jet burners from Houston, Texas because they simply work right and output a lot of heat really fast.
